These 7 words are the most crucial to a successful or not successful site.
I have learned the hard way. Today, I have a successful company blog site. Midwest Labs Blog. In the beginning, I thought it was cool to throw in a little social media tips or talk about the city of Omaha. A friend of mine asked me what the purpose of the blog was and questioned if I had the right focus. Sure, I could get more clicks to my site talking about foursqaure or facebook, but the site had to talk about news and information specific to laboratory testing and those readers interested in laboratory analysis, (testing). By doing this, I have been able to get a “core” reading audience and I have been able to address the needs of our diverse group of clients. In addition, I have been able to gain the attention of others who may be drawn to a particular consumer topic. You will not see any more references to social media on the site.
After two years, I received a notice this week that Guy Kawasaki’s Alltop Site had selected Midwest Labs Blog as a valuable science resource. Now, people can select the blog site for their daily science information feed. This is huge!!! I submitted the site almost a year ago to the day. To me this shows that people are watching and listening to the work that bloggers are providing. If I can provide information for a select group, you can too.
Keep your focus, keep writing and working at good content and people will pick up your work and recognize your efforts.
Thanks for reading this post!
